Vehicles We Smog Check in San Diego, CA
San Diego STAR Smog Check tests every make of gas car, truck, SUV and hybrid at our test-only STAR station on F Street in Golden Hill. Toyota, Honda and Ford lead our job photos, and the grid below shows the rest. Walk in Monday through Saturday or book a time online.
Daily commuters, pickups, family SUVs and the occasional exotic all get the same test. Every make shown in bold appears in our own job photos.
If your brand is missing from the grid, call. It still takes the same inspection.

Japanese makes
Toyota shows up in our job photos more than any other brand, with Honda close behind. Mazda, Nissan, Lexus, Subaru, Acura, and Scion also show up constantly — think Corollas, Camrys, Civics, and CX-5s.
European makes
BMW, Volkswagen, and Mercedes-Benz each appear in well over a hundred of our job photos, Audi and MINI aren't far behind, and we've also tested Land Rover, Porsche, Volvo, Jaguar, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, and Lamborghini.
Domestic trucks and SUVs
Ford, Chevrolet, Jeep, Dodge, GMC, and Ram cover the domestic side, from Wranglers and Grand Cherokees to Silverados and F-150s. Bringing a diesel? Hybrids
The Prius is one of our top three models. Hybrids are included in California's smog program; fully electric vehicles are not.
